ITE BRAND EVOLUTION

Client: ITE — A Community of Transportation Professionals | 2025

ITE is an international membership association of transportation professionals who work to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users and help build smart and livable communities. ITE fosters the exchange of knowledge, promotes best practices, and supports the professional development of its over 18,000 members.

The ITE Brand Evolution project is an exciting initiative to align the organization’s brand with its diverse and dynamic global community. The process will address name conventions, the brand message, and the visual identity system in the development of clear brand guidelines. When implemented, the guidelines will introduce consistency to the ITE brand, while honoring the organization’s long history and local character of Districts, Sections, and Chapters.

Uplift Engagement Communications (Uplift)’s work included developing and executing a comprehensive project plan, a change management strategy, an engagement communications plan, comprehensive Brand Guidelines, and an implementation plan.

Our team worked closely with the ITE International project team. We undertook an extensive brand audit of over 200 organizational entities across North America and beyond. Further, we led over a dozen in-person and online engagement sessions with the International Board of Direction, District, Section, Chapter, Council, and Committee leaders. Hundreds of members participated in the activities and completed surveys designed by our team. Thoughtful planning, research, and and engagement informed our recommendations. The collaborative process was intended to ensure that the final Brand Guidelines reflect the collective vision and tactical needs of ITE’s membership.
