CITY OF FERNIE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN AND IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
Client: Bunt & Associates | City of Fernie | 2020-2022
Fernie is a city in the Elk Valley area of the East Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia, Canada.
The City of Fernie Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) addresses the city-wide multi-modal transportation needs for the next generation. It builds upon the Fernie Official Community Plan (OCP) and other Master Plans to provide a pathway to the OCP’s 2040 targets for transportation sustainability.
The Active Transportation Implementation Plan shares the community vision and priorities and provides the pathway to implementing the ATMP. It includes administration, measurements, scaling, and reporting to all involved parties, including local government, stakeholder groups, community
members, and businesses.
Uplift Co. was first retained by Bunt & Associates to copy edit, design, and publish the ATMP technical report. Later, the City of Fernie retained our team to do the same for the Implementation Plan.
"Uplift Co.'s positive energy and assistance in bringing out stronger messaging and graphics to reflect our intent took our plan to a higher point of influence for active transportation change, and kicked-off a much stronger management process on behalf of the City."
