ITE International Executive Leadership Engagement and All-member Survey
Project Summary
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international community of transportation professionals who work to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities. Through its products and services, ITE promotes professional development and career advancement for its members, supports and encourages education, identifies necessary research, develops technical resources and public awareness programs, and serves as a conduit for exchanging professional information.
ITE retained Uplift Co. to engage the executive leadership and develop an all-member survey to inform the organization’s Strategic Plan update. Our team facilitated 10 online workshops with professionals from the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. What we learned informed an all-member survey designed in collaboration with ITE’s senior staff and distributed to over 16,000 members and transportation professionals.
The goals of the survey were to provide a benchmark for understanding the diversity and experience of those working in the transportation industry and the perceptions of ITE; confirm the issues faced by transportation professionals; determine what’s next in terms of big ideas; and identify opportunities of focus for ITE moving into the next three years. Uplift Co. analyzed the survey results and prepared a detailed report noting key trends. Results were presented in person to the ITE Board. Our work carried on to include custom reporting for 70 Districts and Sections to further inform and support the organization at all levels.
